terms of service

1. what patrapi does

patrapi reads documents you send it (scans, photos, PDFs) and returns the fields your workflow asks for, through the website, batch uploads and an API. Extraction uses AI models. It is accurate most of the time, not all of the time: every result says whether each value was found, missing, unreadable or conflicting, and you are responsible for checking results before relying on them for a decision such as a loan, a subsidy claim or a tax filing.

2. your account

• Give a real email address and keep your password and API keys secret. Anything done with your keys counts as done by you.
• Revoke a key from the dashboard as soon as you think it has leaked.
• You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract under Indian law.

3. credits and payment

• Reading a document costs credits: 1 credit for up to 5 pages, and 1 more for each further 5 pages. Failed documents and repeats of the same file within a workflow are not charged. Current prices are on the pricing section and the billing page.
• New accounts get 50 free credits. Free credits have no cash value.
• Credits are sold in packs through Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record: it takes the payment, charges GST and issues the invoice. Its terms also apply to your purchase.
• Paid credits do not expire while your account is open. Refunds follow our refund policy.
• We may change prices for future purchases. Credits you have already bought keep their value.

4. your documents and results

You keep all rights to the documents you upload and the results you get back. You give us permission to process them only to run your workflows, keep them for the periods in our privacy policy, and fix problems you report. We do not use your documents or results to train AI models, and we do not sell them.

You confirm that you have the right to share every document you upload, including any consent the people named in it must give under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For personal data in your documents, you decide why it is processed and we process it on your instructions.

5. acceptable use

Do not use patrapi to:

• process documents you obtained unlawfully, or forge, alter or impersonate identity documents;
• break the law, including laws on KYC, privacy and data protection;
• overload, probe or get around the service's limits, billing or security;
• resell the API as a competing service without our written agreement.

We may suspend an account that does any of these, and will tell you why unless the law stops us.

6. availability

We work to keep patrapi running and your data safe, but provide it as is, without a promise of uninterrupted service. We may change or retire features; for a change that breaks published API versions we will give at least 30 days' notice by email.

7. liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or decisions made on results you did not check. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. ending the agreement

You can stop using patrapi at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or straight away for a serious breach of these terms. Unused paid credits are refunded when we end the agreement without a breach on your side.

9. law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are heard by the courts of India. Write to us first: most things are sorted out faster by email.

10. changes and contact
